The programme has its stated mission to provide the best education possible for aspiring creative writers and teachers of creative writing. The main criterion for admission is the quality of applicants' creative work, and applicants are advised to send their best work for consideration. Candidates are admitted to specialize in one of three genres: creative non-fiction, fiction or poetry. In exceptional cases, students may be admitted to study in more than one genre, but this will require additional work, and is subject to approval.
The programme will accept applications once a year, and the application deadline is March 31 of each year for entry into the summer residency of the same year. All applicants MUST apply online and submit all writing samples, letters of references and copies of transcripts and degrees via the online system. We review applications and offer acceptances on a rolling basis; however, only applicants who have submitted ALL required materials will be considered for admission. For the 2013 cohort, we begin accepting applications on November 15, 2012. Please follow the link below to apply.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Your application will not be available for review by the admissions committee until you have opened an online application and paid the application fee of HK$300.
