Starting from the 2006/07 academic year, it is mandatory for non-local students (except students staying for less than 180 days) to enrol in a Personal Accident and Medical Insurance (PAMI) Policy during their study at CityU. Such a policy shall be arranged by the University on your behalf and the premium costs will be borne by you.
Students staying for less than 180 days (e.g. students on one-semester exchange part-time students who will not stay in Hong Kong for 180 consecutive days) are required to purchase a travel insurance policy covering hospitalization and medical expenses on their own before they leave their home country.

Mainland and External Affairs Office (MEAO) administers a Peer Buddy Scheme to promote international friendship and to help the inbound exchange students like you to quickly familiarize yourself with CityU and the wider Hong Kong environment. In addition, local students can also benefit from enhancing their language and cross-cultural communication competencies through this exchange interaction.
