2. College requirement

Course structure - Students will take a total of 9 credits, with one 3 credit course from six discipline clusters in the College, namely:

  • Applied Social Studies (SS)
  • Asian and International Studies (AIS)
  • Chinese, Translation and Linguistics (CTL)
  • English (EN)
  • Media and Communication (COM)
  • Public and Social Administration (SA)

College requirement courses - Students will select one course in each cluster from the list of courses approved by the College Board for meeting the College requirement. Students should consult this webpage to confirm the list of courses.

College requirement and major requirement - A course that is taken as a College requirement by a student may also count towards the curriculum and credit requirements of either a major or a minor for the same student. The credit units would count only once towards the total credits on graduation for the student, regardless of the number of requirements (College/major/minor) the course serves to fulfil.

Students are required to complete the College requirement courses by end of the 2011/12 academic year.
